Plastic half pallet 800 × 600 mm: uses, designs and how to choose

The half pallet measuring 800 × 600 mm is half the size of a Euro pallet and is in demand wherever smaller quantities are moved, displayed on the shop floor or stored in tight spaces. In plastic, it comes in several designs. This guide explains the differences and presents models from our category plastic pallets.

What is the half pallet used for?

The half pallet takes up the footprint of half a Euro pallet. Typical uses are:

  • Displays and sales floors: goods arrive on the pallet and are presented on it directly.
  • Smaller shipments: where a Euro pallet would be too large, the half pallet saves space on the truck.
  • Warehouse and production: parts or containers are collected and moved on a small footprint.

Plastic brings low own weights and smooth surfaces. According to the product data, the models in this guide are made of recycled PE-PP and come from the manufacturer Purus.

The designs at a glance

Plastic half pallets differ mainly in their underside. It decides how the pallet is picked up and what it can stand on.

Runners spread the load over continuous supports on the floor, while feet make the pallet nestable. A four-way version makes manoeuvring easier when the pallet is not always approached from the same side. According to the product, the TIDUS LIGHT 806 4W is also available in recycled PO on request.

Comparing weight and load

The product data give the own weight as well as the static and dynamic load for each model:

  • TIDUS Light 806: 3.7 kg, dynamic 400 kg, static 1200 kg, height 135 mm.
  • TIDUS LIGHT 806 4W: 2.7 kg, dynamic 400 kg, static 1200 kg, height 135 mm.
  • TIDUS light 806 9F: 2.9 kg, dynamic 500 kg, static 2000 kg, height 120 mm.
  • TIDUS SMART MEDIUM 806: 6.7 kg, dynamic 500 kg, static 1500 kg, height 140 mm.

Static means the loaded pallet stands on a firm, level floor. Dynamic means it is moved while loaded, for example with a pallet truck. Plan with the value that matches your use, not with the highest value.

The difference in weight stands out: the steel-reinforced SMART MEDIUM weighs considerably more than the light models. That matters for air freight or frequent lifting by hand, whereas for racking and dimensional stability the extra weight can make sense.

Racking, roller conveyors and handling systems

Not every half pallet is meant for every system. According to the product text, the steel profiles keep the TIDUS SMART MEDIUM 806 dimensionally stable, including in high-bay racking. The product data give no value for the load in a rack, so clarify the rack type and the load before use.

According to the manufacturer, the foot design of the TIDUS light 806 9F makes it suitable for roller conveyors and block stacking. A barcode or an RFID tag can also be attached. The TIDUS Light 806 with runners is described as suitable for automated systems and particularly easy to clean.

The SMART MEDIUM also has an anti-slip surface on the pallet deck. As options, the product lists a stacking rim and replacement runners.

Typical applications

Displays in retail

For goods that go onto the sales floor on the pallet, low weight and little space on the return trip count. A nestable display pallet with feet fits well here. When empty, the pallets nest into each other.

Warehouses with pallet trucks and racking

In the warehouse, the half pallet is often picked up from different sides. A four-way version is suited to this. If the pallet goes into a rack, choose a model described for that use and clarify the permitted load in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Do two half pallets fit on the footprint of a Euro pallet?

Yes, two half pallets of 800 × 600 mm together make up the footprint of 1200 × 800 mm. This lets you combine both formats on a truck.

Which half pallet is the lightest?

Among the models listed here, the TIDUS LIGHT 806 4W has the lowest own weight at 2.7 kg.

Can I use the pallets for food?

The product data say nothing on this. Please clarify your requirements with us or the manufacturer before ordering.

How to choose the right half pallet

  1. Clarify how the pallet is picked up: pallet truck, forklift, roller conveyor.
  2. Check the load: static, dynamic and, where relevant, in the rack.
  3. Decide whether empty pallets should be nestable.
